Persan’s Dokumacı brand introduces its new collection, Shuji which stands out with its modern, contemporary, bold yet minimalist character. Named after the Japanese art of calligraphy, the Shuji Collection blends this ancient art form with a timeless and contemporary aesthetic sensibility.
Inspired by the Japanese aesthetic philosophy that embraces simplicity, balance, naturalness, and the expression of emptiness, the Shuji Collection follows a narrative tracing form, rhythm, and meaning. Calligraphic lines flow freely across fabric surfaces; each pattern leaves a dynamic and determined impression, much like a brushstroke. Luxurious textures, high-pile surfaces, and fluid patterns further strengthen this visual language.
The upholstery fabric named Shodo is one of the standout designs of the collection. Created by illustrator Zeynep Kış, one of the founders of Big Baboli Print House, this pattern offers a contemporary interpretation of Japanese calligraphy. Abstract forms inspired by brush movements bring a strong and unique energy to the fabric surface.
The Shuji Collection is completed with a rug group consisting of two exclusive designs. Elegantly and modernly drawn, the rugs provide a strong sense of stylistic unity.
